The Justworks Hours (formerly Boomr) Business tier allows you to track multiple pay rates for a single employee using Job Codes. Employees can track time to one job code per shift and each employee can have as many or as few job codes as they need. You can even set job codes to pay at a flat rate per shift or at an hourly rate.

To get started, click on the person icon in the top, right corner of the screen. Next select ‘Account’ from the drop down list. Now you’ll see a list of options on the left side of the screen; click on Job Codes.
To add a new code, click on the ‘Add Job Code’ button. In the window that appears you’ll enter a code that will represent it in reports and a name for the job code, so make sure you choose ones that you’ll recognize later.
Next you’ll need to choose how employees using that code will get paid. 'Hourly' means the employee’s pay rate will be multiplied by the duration of that shift to calculate pay. 'Fixed Amount' means the employee will get paid the same flat rate for time tracked to that code no matter how long the shift lasts.
You can also decide whether or not time tracked to this code should be included in overtime calculations. This comes in handy if you create codes for things like vacation or sick time.
Finally you can set the code’s visibility. By default an employee won’t see a code if they don’t have a pay rate assigned to that code in their employee profile (we’ll get to this part later), but you can check this box so that all employees will see this code even if they don’t have a rate assigned.
Now you can save this code, or save this code and open a blank window to add a new code.
After adding your codes into the system, you still need to set pay rates for your employees based on the new codes. To do this, you’ll need to click on the Manage tab at the top of the page and then select "Employees" from the dropdown menu.
Next, click on the employee you want to add rates for. In the employee details window, select ‘Multiple Pay Rates’ as the pay rate option. Finally, click on the ‘Set Pay Rates’ link. This will open a new window with all the available job codes. Enter pay rates for any job codes that are relevant to that employee. Just make sure you hit save and you’re all set.
