Mutual customers of Justworks (PEO) and Justworks Hours have access to two “Time Off Settings” in Justworks Hours - both enable information to sync from Justworks to Justworks Hours. Enabling either of these settings can save Admins time by providing a holistic picture of when a team is working or on PTO/Holiday all in Justworks Hours.

  1. “Sync Time Off” setting - enables approved PTO requests to sync every night from Justworks to Justworks Hours

  2. “Sync Holidays” setting - mirrors Company Holidays set in Justworks to Justworks Hours

Only Admins have the ability to enable these two “Time Off Settings” within Justworks Hours. These settings can only be enabled on the web dashboard, not on the Justworks Hours mobile app. Admins can find the Time Off Settings by following the steps below:

Admins can enable the PTO Sync from two places:

  • On your Dashboard, please go to…

    1. Click Integrations

    2. Click Justworks

    3. Scroll to the bottom of the page

    4. Enable

    5. Save

These Time Off Settings are only available to customers who use Justworks as their PEO at this time. If you do not use Justworks as your PEO, or are integrated with Gusto or BambooHR , the Time Off Settings will not be visible in your Preferences section.

All PTO requests must be submitted in Justworks (PEO)

When an admin enables Time Off Setting in Preference or the Integration tab, admins and employees will no longer be able to record or submit PTO requests in Justworks Hours. All PTO requests must be recorded or submitted through Justworks (PEO).

Employees requested and approved PTO on Justworks and it will appear in Justworks Hours.

PTO & Holidays will automatically sync every night or Admins can manually refresh

Once the request is approved, the admin has two options of making sure the request appears on Justworks Hours.

  • Automatic sync every night (no action required)

  • Manual refresh (Admin must click Refresh button): head to Integrations→Justworks→Click Refresh

View PTO & Holidays either on your Justworks Hours Dashboard or the Time Off section

Approved PTO requests and company Holidays will appear in both the dashboard summary and the time off tab. In the Dashboard example below, you’ll see PTO requests that have synced from Justworks (PEO). If you head to the Time Off tab, PTO requests will have the Justworks logo.

FAQs

  1. How soon will approved PTO requests sync to Justworks Hours after I’ve enabled the “Sync Time Off” setting?

    It depends on whether the admin would like to wait for the nightly sync or going to Integrations to refresh the sync between Justworks Hours and Justworks (PEO).

  2. What happens if I cancel a PTO request in Justworks (PEO)?

    If you cancel the PTO request in Justworks (PEO), it will reflect in Justworks Hours either the next day or when a refresh in the Justworks (PEO) integration tab in Justworks Hours is clicked.

  3. Will my employees be paid for the company Holidays that sync to Justworks Hours?

    No - employees are not automatically paid for Holidays even though they sync to Justworks Hours. Work hours must be inputted on the timecard for the day of Holiday in order for the employee to be paid. The purpose for the Sync Holidays switch is to just reveal the upcoming holidays that is coming up for that company holidays are surfaced on the admin dashboard to serve as a visual reminder so that admins can add any applicable work hours completed on a holiday. On the day or days of the paid time off (holiday), the hours must be manually entered into Justworks PEO in order for the employee to be compensated. The day of the Holiday cannot have zero hours otherwise the EE will not be compensated.

  4. Can I turn off the setting in the future?

    Admins can turn off the sync in the future the same way they turned it on. In the Integration tab and within the Preferences.

  5. Will my employees see their PTO in Justworks Hours, or is it only visible to Admin?

    Employees can see their PTO in Justworks Hours, they will have the time off tab as well.
